Colorado households are already benefiting from federal climate investments. Expect more discounts this winter.
We installed a heat pump, and it happened to be the two-year anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act. Rewiring America reached out and partnered with us to do a little celebration on our front porch. The governor even came and I go to meet him! It was fun. Three TV news organizations also did spots on this event. Here are links to all three: Fox 31, CBS4, and Denver7.
After flower beds sat empty, Villa Park neighbors got to work with native plants
This one mainly stars my partner Hayley! We took care of some beds around town and the news wanted to do a piece on it. It’s been really amazing to see not only how the plants have thrived, but how the community has shown interest in the project as well.
Local trash heroes get a beer named in their honor
Trash hero you say? The amazing people over at Seedstock Brewery named a beer after our trash pickup group - the Gulch Garbage Grabbers! It’s lovely to have a such a welcoming local spot, and it doesn’t hurt they have beer!
Denver officially opens Broadway bike lanes
Denver opened the Broadway bike lane! It was a crazy windy day but many people still braved the elements to celebrate. I got interviewed as what this means to a regular old resident of the city.
Denver residents begin clearing sidewalks after first snowstorm of the season
I don’t know how to make the video on the left not autoplay, so please let me know if you know! This was a little segment that Denver7 did about clearing sidewalks after a snowstorm. I was able to talk a little about #ShovelItForward, a group dedicated to clearing bus stops. They cut out a lot of the interview but I was still able to get the word out hopefully!
Colorado Department of Labor and Employment offering a new statewide ‘Career Coaching Program’
I got to go on Great Day Colorado to talk about a program that I manage at work. It is so fun to be on TV! I think the embedded video and link to the website might go away after a few days, so I apologize if you’re here from the future and cannot access it.

More than one year later, James Warren is still building benches and pushing for better
Denver7 helped kick off the bench fever that took over my life for a spell. About a year later, they followed up with me about the story as well as what I’m hoping comes of it. We dig into the systemic issues that matter! There’s a video attached to the article too, check it out!

Guerrilla Bench Builder
This was a fun one - this group sent a documentarian by and we chatted and filmed for about 3 hours. The end result of three hours of footage is about 60 seconds of finished product, which is wild to me. Loads of fun and they made me look good!

Ross Mathews Meets a Denver Man Who Builds Benches with Kind Messages for His Community
An insane adventure! I got flown out to NYC to go on the Drew Barrymore Show to talk about my benches! Drew got sick 30 minutes before shooting, which was sad, but Ross was amazing and I had such a lovely time. All power to the community!

It’s finally here! Construction on the Broadway bike lane will begin in October
Denverite covered a new bike lane that is being built over the next year (should be done Fall 2023) on Broadway. I hate riding on Broadway right now, but I’m excited about it being complete! Just a small little quote from a tiny interview we did, where I brag about how amazing I am at biking.

Faces of the Front Range: This Denver man wants you to take a seat
Pedestrian Dignity uploaded a TikTok of me putting a bench at a bus stop and it gained a lot of attention. The Denver Post ended up doing an article on me, which was a lot of fun! Hopefully some other folks do the same in their city! It is paywalled, so here is a link to a pdf of the article. Consider subscribing, though!
